a little about us
The EnduRUNce Shop began as an idea in
founder Brian Peterson's brain in 2003. As a competitive runner, Brian
realized that to enjoy running and other active fitness sports, having
fitting, functional equipment and accessories was necessary. Brian
began researching how he could fill this void for the citizens of St.
Cloud and beyond. And as they say, the rest is history.... the EnduRUNce Shop opened its
doors March 18, 2005 and has enjoyed great patronage and sales ever
since. Success has come quickly, yet the founding principle of "the
right fit, every time" has not changed.
Brian and Havila Peterson - owners
Brian started competitive running at the age of 11, as a
student of Oak
Point Intermediate school in Eden Prairie, MN. Brian won the one mile
run, and has never looked back. Later, Brian competed in cross country,
track, and Nordic Skiing as a student of Central Middle School, and
later, Eden Prairie High School. Brian began attending St. John's
University in Collegeville, MN where he continued competing in track
and cross country as a Johnnie. Brian has also recently coached at Eden
Prairie High School and was employed by Marathon Sports in Minneapolis,
MN prior to starting the EnduRUNce
Shop.
Havila began competitive running in the Eden Prairie school system as well, blossoming during her junior and senior years, and continues to compete as a member of the track and cross country teams at the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN. Havila attends classes, but you'll see her fitting shoes and accessories (bringing a much-needed woman's touch to the staff) when she's not studying or at practice.
Brian and Havila were married on August 20th, 2005 at the Caribou Highlands Resort in Lutsen, MN.
Adam Lanz - Manager
Adam began running at age 13 at John XXIII Middle School
and continued
competing for four years at Cathedral High School in St. Cloud. Adam
then moved on to competing in track and cross country at St. John's
University, where he first connected with Brian despite bitter
intra-team duels on the race course. Adam has run the Grandma's
Marathon between Two Harbors and Duluth, MN, but insists his favorite
distances are 10K's and half marathons.
Travis Hoover - Sales Associate
Travis played soccer at St. Cloud Apollo High School but later latched on to distance running, competing at St. Cloud State University. He is currently a grad student in English at St. Cloud State and helps in the store when time permits.
